Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to an ethnically diverse family from South London. Her mother is English while her father is Nigerian. She was born on the South London Council Estate, and then went to The Brit School aged 14. She pursued acting studies at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. The stage she appeared in was many productions while attending school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. Since then, she's been making appearances in guest roles for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe appeared as Elisha in The BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured on six of the episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the Bambi role on ITV2 Drama series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. The actress was on the series 2 and 3. Madekwe was a part of the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate people (2008). Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was later ended. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series was cast for her as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was in the episodes of the show's initial two seasons as the show's regular. In May of 2013, announcement was made that she would leave the show after her guest appearance on the premiere episode of its third season. The actress portrayed Tituba on the show Salem from 2014 until 2016. From June to July 2012, Madekwe married her long-time boyfriend actor Iddo Goldberg. The two have collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, comes from a large Hamilton family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers, Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks since the four brothers who were athletic played hockey and baseball and basketball in spring and summer. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so when she was 2 1/2 years old she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing shortly after she joined the Baby Ballet. Ashley was a competitive dancer in all the major divisions until she finished high school. She competed in ballet, jazz, tap and pointe, as well as the acrobatics. Ashley was awarded the best individualist in all the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
