Though this role earned her huge popularity yet she was of the opinion that portraying the portrayal as Mary Camden as a good actress would restrict her acting ability. To alter the image, she appeared in the Gear cover partially clothed. Jessica's actions caused quite a bit of controversy with her fan base. She left 7th Heaven at the end of its sixth season. Her performance was lauded as Casey Jackson, a teenage girl from Ulee's Gold that brought her fame. For this film, she was awarded Best Young Supporting Actress. This comedy movie Summer Catch bears the proof of her amazing acting skills. Despite her impressive performance in Rules of Attraction her film didn't receive much attention. The film that was a horror The Texas Chainshaw Massacre brought her to the attention by the media. Also, she has worked in thriller and suspense films.
